Hansel rules buttons join fans update home
Hansel McDonald is a fictional fashion model and a main character from the 2001 comedy Zoolander, as well as its 2016 sequel, Zoolander 2. In both films he is played by actor Owen Wilson.
Hansel McDonald was a model and a rising star in the fashion entertainment industry. When former runway model Derek Zoolander suffered from a personal hardship that forced him into retirement, his rival Hansel stepped in to take the spotlight.
Zoolander returned to modeling as the brainwashed assassin of the evil Jacobim Mugatu. Her participated in a runway competition with Hansel and lost to him during a "Walk Off" that was being judged by rock and roll legend David Bowie. After Zoolander recovered from Mugatu's manipulation, he went to McDonald's house with journalist Matilda Jeffries where the two mended fences and then celebrated their newfound friendship by imbibing copious amounts of drugs and engaging in group sex. Hansel then assisted Derek Zoolander in exposing Mugatu's control of the fashion industry and a plot to assassinate the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
When this debacle resolved itself, both Hansel and Derek Zoolander retired from modeling and opened the Derek Zoolander Center for Kids Who Can't Read Good and Who Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too. This endeavor eventually failed and when the foundation folded, Hansel McDonald retired to the "parched dunes" of Malibu, California.
